I have been welding for 42 years. I have experienced general welding,
certified welding, and high pressure vessel type welding. I was Plant
Manager at two companies and owned my own business for 16 years where I
manufactured my own designs, which included trenchers and concrete saws. I
have been employed by the Center for Technology since January 2006 and feel
I've found a home here. Welding is a great trade and it has been great to
me.If you have any questions about our welding programs please give me a
call at the above phone number or e-mail me here on the web-site.
I have had a great time working with everyone in the Greeneville/Greene
County school System.
Principles of Welding is the beginning class which teaches students basic
steps of welding. This includes, stick welding, running beads, and welding
a pad then cutting the pad apart showing students any bad parts of their
weld. We then practice butt welds, lapp welds, T-welds, and corner fillet
welds. Students also learn how to use the cutting torch. First year
students will also learn introduction to blue print reading, and some
welding symbols.
Advanced Welding class consists of arc welding, wire feed mig welding, and
introduction to Heli-Arc welding. We also will use the plasma torch,
cutting torch, and carbon-arc torch. We also encourage our students to
build a project or to work on a project for others. Advanced welding class
will also learn blue print reading and draw their own blueprints using
different weld symbols. We work with different types of welding gases and
the
proper pressures needed to form good welds.
