How do I enroll at Lexington High School?

Parents or guardians must call 731-968-9623 to make an 
appointment with a
counselor. An enrollment packet must be completed and parents or
guardians
need to bring the following items for registration: proof of
residency in
Henderson County, proof of custody if student does not live with
both
natural parents, and social security card of student.

Who is my child's counselor?

Students have an assigned counselor.  Melanie Atchison is 9th 
grade
counselor. Danny Beecham is 10th grade counselor. Carol
Burroughs is 11th
grade counselor. Seniors are divided with Carol Burroughs being
counselor
for seniors A-K (last name) and Danny Beecham being counselor for
seniors L-
Z (last name).

When will Juniors take the ACT test?

All juniors will take the ACT on  March 9, 2010 at Lexington High 
School.
Juniors may also register to take the ACT on national testing
dates -
February 6, 2010, April 10, 2010, and June 12, 2010.

How will my child register for classes next year?

His/Her counselor will be going into REP groups and passing out 
registration
packets for the child to bring home. In the registration packet,
the parent
and child will have an appointment with the counselor to review
the 4 year
plan and register for the 2009-2010 school year.

What about scholarships?

Each senior was given a scholarship packet at the beginning of 
the school
year containing vital information about national and state
scholarships. In
the counselors' office, there is a scholarship corner where
scholarship
forms are available to students. The local scholarships will be
available
in the Spring Semester. Students may contact their assigned
counselor for
further information.

My child is failing a subject. What can I do?

Lexington High School has credit recovery in all academic classes 
for
students. Credit recovery is assignments provided by the
student's teacher
via a computer link and is offered Monday thru Thursday
afternoon from 3 -
5 pm each six weeks for students.
