Classwork
Reading: We are continuing to read and comprehend literature using our Stone
Fox study.
Language: Your second grader will be reviewing language skills for the
remainder of the school year.
Math: Students are learning to add and subtract tree digit numbers.
Social Studies: Second graders are learning to identify, compare, and
describe characteristics of Tennessee. We will begin an in class group
project to further our study.
Home Fun
Monday and Tuesday: Your child will participate in an in class circus. The
letter about this is coming home today. This is meant to be a fun, stress
free activity. Your second grader should come up with a simple circus act to
share with the class. We will have mats and a balance beam in class if your
child would like to use it. Please keep it simple and please don't purchase
anything additional for your child to wear or use. After the circus, we will
celebrate with cotton candy. The circus is used to finish our unit on
Balancing and Weighing. I am making this project optional, however, it is a
lot of fun. I also allow for your child to work with other students from the
class and perform in a group.
