Classwork
Spelling: We are learning to identify words with -ou and -ow; the sound of
the pattern can be found in words like: ground and howl. The test is Friday.
Reading: We are learning to compare and contrast in reading. The story this
week is called Frogs. We will compare and contrast the life cycles of frogs
and toads.
Language: We are learning to identify verb tenses for the verbs come, run,
and give.
Math: We will test on math chapter 10 Tuesday. Wednesday we will begin
chapter 11, plane and solid shapes. A study guide is coming home tonight.
We completed the study guide today, please review it; it doesn't need to be
returned to school.
Science: We will conclude our matter unit this week as we discuss the water
cycle. Our next unit of study will be about George Washington and Abraham
Lincoln.

Updates
* Biography presentations are due this week! Girls will present on Thursday
and boys will present on Friday. Posters are also due at this time.
* The winter read-in was a success. You will notice an adjustment to your
second graders reading goal. This adjustment will make it seem like the goal
is fewer points. However, in order to be flexible with the time students
were not allowed to test I will be making the point goals lower, as they
would have earned points by now and therefore had fewer points left to earn.
As always, please contact me with any questions. Have a great week!
