TN ECONOMIC COUNCIL-DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 14, 2009. The Tennessee Economic Council on Women will offer six $1,000 scholarships, two from each Grand Division of the State, in October at the Tennessee Women's Summit. Three of the Scholarships will be for 2010 high school seniors and three will be given to women who are re-entering college. The guidlines and applications will be online by June 2009 at www.tnwomensummit.org. Application deadline will be September 14, 2009. Questions should be addressed to tecscholarship@comcast.net. BUSINESS- DEADLINE: JUNE 20th, 2009 Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winners (each year) of their annual scholarship program. Students must have a 22 ACT score and at least a GPA of 3.0. Students must also declare a major within the College of Business. ETSU- Deadline May 30th-The TN Gamma Chapter of Sigma Epsilon Fraternity is offering two (2) Balanced Man Scholarships totaling $1,000 and $500 to two (2) outstanding freshmen males entering ETSU at the beginning of next year. ENGINEERING-Deadline October 6, 2009-The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. TSAC BULLETIN & SCHOLARSHIP INFO: Deadlines: various-see below - The 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available for completion at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov . Any student planning to receive the TN HOPE scholarship must complete the application by SEPTEMBER 1, 2009.

Beyond the HOPE scholarship, below are several other TSAC administered programs with approaching deadlines.

DEPENDENT CHILDREN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: Eligible students will be a dependent child of a law enforcement officer, fireman or emergency medical technician who was killed in the line of duty or permanently disabled in the line of duty while employed in Tennessee. Applications can be completed at www.tn.gov/collegepays. Applications, required documentation, and a completed FAFSA must be received by TSAC no later than JULY 15, 2009.

FAFSA ONLINE: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. A FAFSA form MUST be filed as soon as possible after January 1, 2009. To file online, you will need a FAFSA PIN #   (see link below). You will need your parents' income tax information for 2008. If taxes have not been filed yet, you may estimate the information, and update it after the taxes are filed. Again, you do NOT have to wait for taxes to be filed to file your FAFSA.
