College Applications/Letters of Recommendation

Filling out college applications?

The following process MUST be followed if you want a letter of
recommendation, counselor sections of college applications filled out,
and/or official transcripts:

• If you need a recommendation letter from your counselor or your
teachers (teachers who know you well are best), fill out a recommendation
request form before asking for a recommendation. Give the completed form to
the person you need the letter from AT LEAST TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE. These
forms are in the senior counselor office.

* If your college application has a counselor section you need filled out,
be sure your name is on the application and pencil in the date you are
dropping it off (on the top of the front page), and put it in the labeled box
in the senior counseling office. Put it there AT LEAST TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE
of the date you need it sent to your college(s).

• If you only need a transcript, pick up a transcript request form from
the senior counseling office. There is a 2-3 day turn-around for
transcripts. If you mark the box to pick up the transcript, don't forget to
come by and get it!

• We will return your forms and finished recommedation letter within 2
weeks.

• If your application needs teacher recommendation letters, remember to
attach those with your application when you mail everything to the college.
Also, you must arrange your own teacher recommendations!

• We MUST have a TWO-WEEK turnaround time, so do not procrastinate in
this process.
