In Math we a studying multiple skills each day. We are not building on
multiplication skills as we multiply 2 and 3 digit numbers by 1 digit. If
students have learned their multiplication facts then they will just need to
practice to build in this new skill. This is something you can really help
with at home.
In Spelling we are working on recognizing correctly spelled words in a list
of words.
In LANGUAGE I am looking for students to carry over skills they have learned
into all their subjects. I am asking for questions to be answered in
complete sentences. I expect sentences to begin with capital letters and end
with correct punctuation. You can help by enforcing good grammar skills as
your child works at home. Please look over graded work and offer
constructive suggestions to help children become more competent, confident
writers.
Our READING program is now preparation for TCAP testing. Students are
developing reading stamina as they read longer fiction and nonfiction
passages for understanding. We are also reading short novels.
