Have you read any good books lately?
In Third Grade we are continuing our study of American Girl
Characters
throughout the history of the US. This week we learned about
Molly the
character who lived during World War II. Can you imagine having
meat/ sugar
and gasoline rationed? Or going to the store to find empty
shelves? That's
what it was like for this little girl and her family as they
struggled with
the changes the war brought to their lives. Read more about

What's new in the library?
Everyone is reading the new Warrior Series by Erin Hunter. Can
you imagine
wild cats living in Clans? There is Thunder Clan, Wind Clan,
Shadow Clan &
River Clan. They have warrior cats, medicine cats, the clan
leader, and
clan deputy. We can't keep these new books on the shelves.
Another hot series is The Olympian Series by Rick Riordan. With
the new movie coming out about book 1 The Lightning Thief,
everyone is wanting to read about Percy Jackson the main
character and learn about the Greek Gods and Greek Mythology.
Those books are flying off the shelves.
What about this Summer?
It's never too soon to start planning on some great summer
reading. Don't forget the Summer Reading Program at the
Mt.Juliet Public Library. The librarians have a great summer
program planned with prizes and
activities all summer long.
