August 10,
Today students completed a venn diagram to compare and contrast plant and animal cells. This was place on page 7 of the science notebook. Students also completed workbook page 5(the second paragraph only). This was discussed and corrected. All classes reviewed for the Lesson 1 quiz tomorrow.
Homework-Study workbook pages 2,3 and 5. Notebook pages 4-7. Book pages 30-33. Quiz tomorrow.
August 9
Today students continued to learn about plant and animal cells. Students drew diagrams on pages 4-5 of their science notebooks. As diagrams were drawn, the class discussed the likenesses and differences between plant and animal cells. We also discussed the function of each part. Then photographs of real cells were viewed.
Homework-Complete the chart on page 6 in the science notebook. Use pages 30-33 in the textbook for help. Also, begin studying for Wednesday's quiz on Lesson 1 of Chapter 1.
August 6
Today students learned about animal and plant cells. Homework was finished as a group in class, but students may go ahead and begin studying for Wednesday's Quiz.
Homework-Read pages 30-33. Complete workbook pages 2-3(7-14). Lesson 1 quiz on Wednesday.
August 2-4
No assignments were given. Students received their science textbook, workbook, and notebook. Students also took a pretest on the parts of plant and animal cells.
