Mission:  The mission of Intermediate Algebra is to review basic concepts of Algebra 1 and introduce the fundamentals of Algebra 2.  The main points of focus of the first 9 weeks grading period will be determined by areas where students need remediation in Algebra 1.  The second 9 weeks grading period will cover the Algebra 2 concepts that students will use the most.

 

                                    1^st 9 WEEKS GRADING PERIOD

 

I Order of Operations, Solving Linear Equations, and Solving Linear Inequalities.  (10 days)

II Polynomials, Factoring, and Quadratic Equations. (15 days)

III Radical Expressions. (5 days)

IV Rational Expressions. (5 days)

V Probability and Statisitcs. (5 days)

VI General Review of all concepts covered. (4 days)

VII Final Exam. (1 day)

2nd 9 WEEKS GRADING PERIOD

I Solving Equations and Inequalities. (8 days)

II Linear Relations and Functions. (10 days)

III Systems of Equations and Inequalities. (12 days)

IV Matrices. (10 days)

V General Review of all concepts covered. (4 days)

VI Final Exam. (1 day)
