Families,
This
is your child’s Kindergarten Sight Word List. Children are expected to master
all Kindergarten Sight Words before moving to first grade. We practice these
at school, but they will need to be practiced at home as well.
For
each list your child can complete he/she will earn a prize. Completion of all
sight words (not including bonus words- they are optional) will earn a very
special prize, a certificate and your child being recognized in morning
announcements.

Here
are some tips for helping practice sight words:
*make
flash cards keep a set with you and practice while waiting at doctor’s office,
riding in car, etc.
*make
a “Memory” type game and have child read and match words
*post
words around your home as secret passwords (for example child must read the
word “at” before coming in kitchen).
*make
a sight word notebook and have child practice writing a few words each night
*
practice a few words from the list you are working on and provide stickers
when your child can read them
