Date: Nov. 23-27-   THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SENT IN CHRISTMAS ITEMS!  WE HAVE GOTTEN LOTS OF GOOD STUFF!  DON'T WORRY ABOUT SENDING A DUPLICATE OF SOMETHING...WE NEED MULTIPLES OF EVERYTHING!

PLEASE WEAR A PURPLE SHIRT ON MONDAY IN HONOR OF PEGGY DILL(A FORMER TEACHER HERE AT CFE) AND PANCREATIC CANCER! 

Phonics: THIS WILL FINISH US UP WITH LOWERCASE LETTERS.  WE WILL BEGIN CAPITAL LETTERS IN DECEMBER!

*Letters-  X (x- x-ray) and Y (y-yellow): The children will learn that letter x comes at the end of words (except for x-ray).  He likes to make his sound last!  

*Letter Character: L-Larry Lion will teach us how to write sight words from the first grade list which are love and like!

Sight Words: Review of ALL color words!  We will begin reviewing number words at school!  Remember- Your child can/should practice all lists at home to reinforce reading readiness.  

 

Math: Review

Theme/Unit:   We will spend the last two days wrapping up Thanksgiving and starting our Muffins for Moms projects!  shh....It's a secret!

Homework:  

*Secret Sacks for  x and  y! 

*SINCE IT IS A SHORT WEEK, WE WILL NOT BE TESTING SIGHT WORDS, SENDING HOME SNUGGLE UP AND READ BAGS, OR COUNTING TO BE IN THE 100 CLUB.  

Reminders/Upcoming Events: 

*Special Person: Olivia- we'll give her the next week too, since it's a short week! 

*Nov. 23- Please send your child's white t-shirt for our K program on this day! 

*Nov. 24-Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast @ 12:45.  Our class will be responsible for bringing the fruit (dried or fresh--ready to serve).  I am asking each parent to send this item by Friday, Nov. 20 in order for our class to participate.  Please send your child dressed in blue jeans and a brown shirt (can be inside out if needed) on this day! 

*Nov. 25-27-Thanksgiving Break!

*Nov. 30-Dec. 4- Please return Christmas trees to be displayed in the hallway!  I will send these home on Tuesday.

*Dec. 9- Gingerbread Houses (9:15ish...)- We need lots of parent volunteers for this!  Mark your calendars!!!  I would love for each child to have an adult! The list of Christmas supplies had an incorrect date for Gingerbread Houses- please use the date that has been on the Kindergram! 

*Dec. 10- Christmas Program: Pizza @ 5:30 and K Program @ 6:00!  We will be asking volunteers to come and help us paint our shirts the week of Nov. 30.  Let me know if you can help!

*Dec. 11- Muffins for Mom: 7:30- 8:15

*Dec. 15- Rudolph Day- we will be making Rudolph sandwiches and watching Rudolph movie

*Dec. 16-Report cards and Awards Day (10:00 in gym)

*Dec. 17-Polar Express Day-Wear PJ's and drink hot chocolate and watch the movie! 

*Dec. 17- Sing A Long in the gym (Our school will be singing Christmas Carols)

*Dec. 18- Christmas Party: 7:30-8:50 (girls bring a girl gift and boys bring a boy gift- $5.00)  You can send this in as soon as you purchase!  "Due" Friday, Dec. 11.  Please wrap and write for boy or girl on outside of paper.

*Dec. 21-Jan 4- Christmas Break- Return Jan. 5
