2nd Annual Byars Dowdy Fall Festival
We are already getting ready for our 2nd Annual Byars Dowdy Fall Festival on Saturday, September 19th from 10am-2pm with a silent auction at 3pm.
To make our festival a fun and exciting time for our students and their friends, we will need your help planning, organizing and running the festival. Even if you can only help for a short time, your effort and energy can make a great difference in our children's enjoyment of the festival.
We still need help in the following areas:
Donation for Silent Auction:
o Send out email/letters to area companies
o Follow-up with companies about donations
o Collect donations
o Write Thank-you notes for donations
Silent Auction
o Log and number items
o Make signs and auction sheets
o Set up auction
Games
o Find out if teachers need supplies and amount of space
o Make signs for games
Promotion
o Design and print flyers
o Distribute fliers around town
o Put up yard signs around town
o Put advertisements in local papers and media
Tickets
o Organize and distribute pre-sold tickets, Thursday prior to
festival Volunteers
o Organize volunteers for the day of the festival,
o Post schedule of volunteers for the day of festival
We will also need plenty of volunteers to work the day of the festival to help with the various areas.
All volunteers on the Day of the Fall Festival will receive 10 tickets for every hour you work and those working 2 or more hours, will also receive a meal ticket. Don't forget to check with your child's teacher. Some teachers will be running games to earn money for their class and may need a volunteer as well (the above applies if you volunteer for teachers also).
