  This year’s fundraising event will kick off on July 27, 2009.  Once again, Byars Dowdy will partner with the Smart Savings Card Program and sell smart cards.  Fundraising packets will be available for pick-up on July 27th and the fundraising event will end on August 28th.  In the previous school year, Byars Dowdy earned approximately $13,000. With your assistance, this year’s earnings should surpass this amount.

1) Why was this fundraising event selected?  
   Selling smart cards is quick and easy and proven to generate profits for the school.

2) What is a Smart Card?  
  It is a discount card that can be used at participating local businesses such as restaurants,

dry cleaners etc.

3) How do you sell Smart Cards? 
  Basically, they sell themselves.  Smart cards have been around for many years and individuals

look forward to purchasing them yearly.  All you have to do is tell people that you are selling them.

4) Are Smart Cards available for just Wilson County? 
  NO . . .Smart cards are available for many different counties, so don’t limit to just selling in Wilson County.  You can sell to friends, family members, co-workers etc who live in surrounding counties.

5) What is the cost of a Smart Card?
  $12 per card

6) What is the incentive for student participation? 
  There is a Prize Program established.  The more cards that a student can sell the more prizes that he/she may qualify for.
