December is here already! We are focused on family this month. And
we'll begin talking about what makes a family. The second week of we will
talk about the holidays families celebrate in December. We will talk
about Kwanzaa and what each day of that celebration means. Feliz Navidad is
next and we have a funny book about some children who eat too many tamales
during this holiday, and then we'll talk about Christmas.
The last week before the holiday break we will be reading the book "The
Polar Express". We will watch the movie during quiet time Monday and Tuesday
so we can see the difference between the book and the movie. We will make
hot chocolate from scratch just like the children have in the movie too.
Yum, Yum!
You probably know we will be making lots of things to decorate our room
and then your houses during the month and of course tasting and making some
good foods too!
On Friday, December 18th Pre-K will be dismissed at 9:00, that's 1 hour
earlier than the rest of the school. There will be no bus service this day.
Our children do not exchange gifts or have a Christmas party but we will have
a Christmas breakfast Friday the 18th. If your child will not be coming this
day please let me know because Ms. Mary and I have a gift for each child and
we'd like them to get it before the holiday break.
We'll be back in school Jan. 5th and begin home visits in the afternoons
that week. These will be only 15 - 20 mintues long so we can update our
emergency information on each child.
Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!
