Theme Time:*
Our last two weeks, we will be reviewing letters, numbers, shapes, and concepts from the year. Students will demonstrate their abilities in math
and letters they have learned. We will be learning more about what to expect in Kindergarten by meeting our Kindergarten teachers and special
class teachers as well as taking a trip to the cafeteria for lunch.
Field Trip News
We appreciate all of the parent volunteers who were able to go with us on our field trips this year. Your help and support on those days was
invaluable.
*New Vocabulary
Our new vocabulary we learned from the previous week include boil, clay, healthy, and yam.

Think and Talk Time:
The following are questions you may ask your child at home about what he or she is learning:
1. Can you see some words here at home? What letters are inside them?
2. What numbers do you see in our home? Where are they?
3. Can you name things that begin with the letter Z?
Focus Letter and Concepts:
To learn more about the letter Z, we will be reading about the zoo, completing a zone sort, and having a zig zag race.
Parent/Child Time:*
We will be reviewing the basic shapes this week. Help your child at home to review these by going on a shape hunt to find a circle, square,
rectangle, diamond, oval, and triangle around the house.
Practice letter/sound recognition by asking your child to help you make labels for 5 objects in your home. Allow your child to write the letters
that he or she hears when saying the word while you fill in the missing letters. Enjoy!
