This week in Mrs. Aulds’ class...
Reading: Meet Rosina Skill:Main Idea & Detail
Math: We will be comparing numbers using >, <, and =. Also, we will use different way to represent numbers using place value, number names, and expanded form.
Every week we will have “I can” statements in the classroom to reinforce what we are learning and to empower students with the knowledge that they “can” learn and succeed. Ask your students to tell you more about them, especially towards the end of the week!
This week, our “I can” statements are:
- I can write complete simple and compound sentences.
- I can identify the main idea and details of a story.
- I can distinguish between short and long vowel words.
- I can compare numbers using >, <, =.
- I can recognize a number using place value, number names, and expanded form.
Homework: Read for 20 minutes each night. Be sure to note the book read and for how long in your agenda. Thank you for sharing this time with your child to enhance their reading ability.
Spelling: Also, be sure to study for spelling a little each night. Spelling tests will be every Friday. The weekly spelling list will be in your child’s agenda.
