August 29 – September 1

NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 (Stockpile Teacher Day) OR MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 (Labor Day).

Classroom needs: toys for treasure chest (old McDonald's toys or inexpensive dollar store type items), tennis balls for our chairs,

zip lock bags (all sizes), playdough, and baby wipes.

Next Wednesday, on September 7, each child is encouraged to bring in an item that is related to another culture (country) to share and an item that has been passed down from generation to generation that is important to their family culture. Example, I might bring in my Sombrero that I purchased while in Mexico and then I would bring in my homemade quilt that my great grandmother made. If your item is too big or expensive to bring into school, you could make a picture of it or draw it. You will need to present the item and tell about it to the class. So please do some research and be ready to share some interesting information. A Prowl Paw will be signed and a homework pass will be given if you do this project!!!

If you want to help your child with our math fact races, go to mathfactcafe.com to build math fact race problems like we have in class. Make the sheet for 30 problems with the fact they are working on and print these off and time your child for 2 minutes.
