Feb. 11, 2011
Wow, I haven't updated in quite a while. We've been out of school so much due to snow, a person
gets kinda out of synch.
We had a Lock In planned for Feb. 11, but since we were out of school, we couldn't have it. We will
reschedule it for another night.
The TCAP test will start on April 15th. That may seem far away, but really it will upon us quickly. I
have been giving math morning work to all homerooms. Students are required to complete the 5
questions for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Any student who comes in closer to 8:00 has until
Friday to complete all 15 math questions. These morning work sheets are for a grade. It is the
student's responsibility to get these in for me. Students will receive a 0 for any sheets not completed.
Also I have been giving Math Review sheets when I know we will be out for snow or for weekend work.
I check the work and the students are allowed to correct their papers and then I take a final grade.
Unfortunately some students are not taking advantage of correcting their papers. Two review sheets we
went over extensively before I handed back their work to correct. Still some students chose not to make
corrections. I have told each of the 5 classes that I will fail students who do not turn in the work. In my
20 years of teaching, I rarely fail a student for a 9 week period. But I'm afraid this 9 weeks will be a
different story. I have lectured and I need you to also tell your child how important it is to try their very
best, These worksheets are to help them remember what they have learned months ago. I will hope
you can help me.
Thanks for all you do and please feel free to contact me.
