After being a classroom teacher for 20 years, I was given the opportunity to be a reading
intervention teacher. It is a pleasure to be teaching reading all day, every day. Previously, I have
taught transitional first grade, first grade and kindergarten. This year I begin my twenty-fifth year of
teaching.
My husband and I have three children, all twenty-something. Our youngest child is a college
graduate, looking for a job in the field of consumer science education. The middle child graduated
with a degree in plant and soil science, is employed and is married to a teacher. Our oldest child has a
career as an information specialist and is living in West Tennessee.
In early 2011 we welcomed two precious grandchildren to our family. They have brought much joy to
our lives and we treasure the time we can share with them.
