Parent Messages

Earlier this week, we had a confirmed case of type A flu. Please continue to encourage your child to wash their hands thoroughly and keep their hands out of their mouths.

Please be sure to send in your attendance confirmation, with your child’s name on it, for our 2nd Family Night. All confirmations should be made no later than Tuesday of next week. We will be giving away a free book to each student and must have an accurate count. Family Night will be held on November 19th at Coles Ferry Elementary at 5:00pm

Next week, we will begin collecting old paper and aluminum drink cans for recycling. Please send in any recyclable paper and or aluminum drink cans to add to our collection.

We’d like to give a special thank you Ashlynn, Kayleigh, Hunter, and Jahlin for donating box tops and coke top rewards. Because of the amount of coke top rewards we have received, we will need 5 parents to volunteer to log in additional points. The system will only allow us to log in a certain amount a week. Without your help, we may need to discontinue our collection for a while.

Focus Letter and Concept

This week, our theme was colors. During our study we read books about the color of the day, sang special color songs, shared magazine pictures of the color of the day, learned the sign language for each color, and wore the corresponding color of the day. Next week, we will continue our Color unit by wearing and discussing a specific color and cutting out objects that pertain to the color of the day. Please allow your child to independently cut out the pictures. In addition, we continued to review the letters A,B, and C.. Next week, we will begin learning about the letter D. The children had a great time revisiting Apple Annie, Benjamin Bunny, and Cathy Cook. We also got a chance to sort objects that began with each letter. Our nursery rhyme this week was, "The Eensy Weensy Spider". In the nursery rhyme, we discussed cause and effect. During our nursery rhyme study, we talked about what occurred when the rain came down, and what the spider did because of it.

 Parent and Child Time

Each day, we create a morning message and answer a mystery question. Ask your child to share the morning message and the mystery question of the day.

Play a game of “I Spy” with colors.

Ask your child to name the four primary colors.

What is the sign language for red, blue, yellow, and purple?

As we begin our study of restaurants, review the type of manners that are expected in a restaurant.
