This is my thirteenth year at Lexington Middle School and I truly love
teaching this age group.
I teach Social Studies in the eigth grade. I am married to
Bruce Blackwell and we have two children. I graduated from Union University
with a Bachelor of Education and received my master's degree from the
University of Tennessee at Martin. Before coming to LMS, I taught 7th and
8th grade Science and History at Pin Oak Elementary School in
Henderson County.
My goal is for each student to become more aware of the world around them
and how it effects their community, as well as, their own lives. My hope is
for them to become curious, lifelong learners who respect themselves and
each other.
We have several objectives this year that are related to the Tennessee State
Standards for Social Studies.
