This week we will continue our review for the TCAP next week. We will be 
going to Cumberland Caverns on Friday for our class trip.  Don't forget to  
bring your lunch and to wear closed-toe shoes.  The cave may be a little 
chilly, so you might want to bring a jacket.

April 9-13, 2012
This week we will go over moon phases, solar and lunar eclipses, tides, and 
look again at the different parts of the solar system.  We will review the 
order of the planets, discuss the differences between inner and outer 
planets, and talk about comets, asteroids, and meteoroids.

this year.  We will begin with Ecosystems, biomes, and the interaction of all 
living things.

This week we will begin the last chapter of the textbook on "Electricity".  
In this chapter, we will begin to look at how objects become charged and how 
charged objects interact with each other and other objects.  Some terms we 
will learn are electric current, voltage, and resistance.  We will learn 
about different ways to generate electrical energy and how to calculate power 
and energy usage.  We will also be setting up some electrical circuits and 
looking at the difference between a series circuit and parallel circuit.  
Finally, we will learn about electrical safety.

This week we will start learning about heat and heat technology.  We will 
revisit the terms radiation, conduction, and convection and will learn about 
thermal expansion, the different temperature scales and how temperature and 
kinetic energy are directly related.
