Math - Mr. Clouse

 10/19/09

With the start of a new 9 weeks we will be working on geometery. Today was the basic review
of lines, rays, segments, points, plane, right angle, complementary angle, supplementary angle,
congruent, vertical angles, parallel and perpendicular lines. Homework is a handout given in
class most students will have finished it by the end of the day.

10/20/09

Today we went over parallel and perpendicular lines, we also covered the different polygons.
Homework was to finish a handout about polygons. Parent Teacher night is tonight!

10/21/09

Today in class we covered the different types of triangles and quadrilaterals. Students add
vocabulary words to the notebook. NO HOMEWORK!

10/22/09

Today in class we talked about finding the measurement of congruent angles. Tonights
homework is a handout.

10/26/09

Today in class we had a quiz about congruent angles. Next we talked about the sum of the
interior angles of different polygons, and the measure of angles of regular polygons. We will
have no homework tonight. The formula for today is (n-2)180. n = the number of sides or
angles of a polygon.

10/27/09

The lesson for today is circles. First we will have a quiz about angles. Then we will discuss
circles. Homework will be a handout about circles.

10/28/09

We graded the circle handout and went over the parts of a circle. Then we talked about
finding the perimeter of polygons and circles. The students have a handout to complete for
Thursday, they had time in class to work on it.

11/02/09

Monday we will review finding the perimeter and area of circles and quadrilaterals. No
homework.

11/03/09

Tuesday I will have a sub. The students will continue to work on perimeter and area.
Homework maybe handout.

11/5/09

Thursday is reveiw. I will give the students a reviw quiz on the board. The problems will be
the same that will be on the test Friday. After the students have worked on the problems I will
go over the problems in class and work them on the board. No homework exept for them to
study for the test and make sure their vocab. notebooks are up to date. I will colect those Friday
before I hand out the test.

11/9 till 11/13/2009

We will be practicing for the Veterans Day Program. We will be studying the pythagorean
theorm.

11/16/2009

Today was review for a test on the Pythagorean Theorm. No homework. Test Tuesday over
Pythagorean Theorm.

11/17/2009

Homework for Mr. Mosleys homeroom 9 problems. Today we took a test over the
pythagorean Theorm. I graded those and gave it back to the students they spent class time
makeing corrections in order to improve their grade. Mid 9weeks went home today. Volume
Wednesday hopefully.

11/18/2009

Today we went over how to find the volume of a prism and a cylinder. V= area of the base X
the height. Homework is a handout, students had at least 20minutes of class time to work on it.

11/19/2009

Today we continued to discuss volume of prisms and cylinders. Home work is a handout
about identifying thhree dimensional figures and finding the volume of triangular prisms.

11/30/2009

Today we reviewed volume of prisms, cylinders, and the pythagorean Theorm. After the
extended break I thought they would need a review. We also add volume of pyramids and cones.
Homework is a handout about finding the volume of pyramids and cones, with a few problems
from the board add.

12/1/2009

Today we went over surface area of prisms and cylinders. S=2B+Ph. Homework is a handout
with 12 problems most class had 30min to work on it in class.

12/2/2009

Today the focus of our lesson was surface area of pyramids and cones. S=B+1/2P().
Homework was 9 problems on a handout we started in class.

12/3/2009

Today we worked on finding the volume and surface area of spheres. Homework was to
finish a handout we started in class.
