My name is Benny Boals. I have taught school for 34 years. I started at
Spring Hill Elementary in 1977. I taught grades 3 - 6 Math and Science for
three years. I then went to my home school, Gibson Elementary. I taught
Math, Spelling, and Science for grades 6 - 8. I also coached the boys' Jr.
High Basketball team for 3 years. When Gibson closed I was sent to Medina
Elementary. This is my 28th year at Medina. I have taught all subjects in
grades 2 - 8 at one time or another here at Medina. I plan to continue
teaching here until my retirement.
I live on a small farm near Gibson. I am married to Debbie Hopkins Boals
from Humboldt. We have one son, Josh. He and his wife, Lindsey, live just
down the road from us. My two granddaughters, Joslin and Kiersten, are the
apples of my eye. Three years ago I was blessed with a grandson, Cohen Ray.
In addition to teaching school, I also own a flower shop in Humboldt. I am
a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where I play the piano and
teach an adult SS class.
After 34years I still enjoy teaching students and they keep me feeling
young.
I want my students to enjoy school and I will do my best to make sure that
they feel successful and loved. I know that the 2011-2012 school year is
going to be one of the best yet for both myself and my students.
My mission is to offer an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and one
where everyone can feel loved and successful.
