I would like to welcome both our returning students and all of our newcomers
to Medina Elementary School. It will certainly be a pleasure to reacquaint
myself with those of you that were here last year as well as those of you who
are new to our school. As our school increase in size, the number of new
people that we see grows and grows. Remember, you are only the new guy for
one day only. The next day (or before lunch usually) you are one of us.
Again, welcome to our school. If you need help, find me in the halls or the
gym and see if I can help you.
I love to have a good time, and I want my students to have a good time as
well. The greatest lesson that I try to teach to all of my students is that
you can have a good time and learn within the same time frame. Our 16th
President, Abraham Lincoln once said that "Most people are about as happy as
they let themselves be." I would like to see all of us make a major effort
to be happier and have a good time every single day of the year.
My philosophy has always been that not everyone can do all skills, but
everyone certainly can try all skills. Effort has always carried the same
weight with me that result has.
Please remind your children to wear tennis shoes on their PE days. If for
some reason they need to wear other shoes on those days, please place their
tennis shoes in their book bag, and they can change before they come to PE.
It will make our floor last much longer.
Our general rules on shoe wear are found in the policies section of this
website. Please take a few minutes and make yourself familiar with these
policies.
Also, if you are involved in PAL league basketball, please observe the same
footwear there as well for practice and games.
