Skill- Realism and Fantasy
We are on story 2.6 if you are keeping up with the leveled readers on
Kindergarten Kove.
We are connecting the story "Whose Garden Is It?" to science. We are learning
that a plant needs air, water, sunlight and food in order to grow.
In social studies we are learning about the celebration of the first
Thanksgiving. Today we made the Mayflower and learned that the Pilgrims
sailed across the ocean on this ship. We will be talking about chores that
the Pilgrims had to do. On Tuesday, we are going to make butter. Next
Monday, the Kindergartens will enjoy a taste of Thanksgiving. We will be in
the cafeteria at 1:30. Help is needed to set up. If you can come about
1:00p.m. let me know.
In math we are starting a new chapter on geometry and fractions. For the next
few days we will be learning the names of the sphere, cube, cylinder and cone.
We will be relating these shapes with real life objects. We are learning
which shapes can roll, slide or stack.
I will look forward to seeing you Wednesday morning between 7:35 and 8:00 for
the Parent Appreciation breakfast. Have a great week!
