What a beautiful day!! Sunshine at last!!
This week in reading our story is "Bear Snores On." We are learning the
difference between realism and fantasy. This story is fantasy. Ask your
child to tell you what the story is about and then also have them tell you
what things happen in the story that let us know it is fantasy.
Continue to practice these sight words- I, am, the, to, little, a, have, is,
we, like, my.
This week's sound is c /k/.
This week's color is black.
I sent the Family Times home in the planner pocket today. Please go over the
activities each night with your child. These activities will help them to
become better readers.
In science we are learning about hibernation and nocturnal animals. In
social studies we are learning the difference between wants and needs.
In math we started a new chapter today. The chapter is on the numbers 6-10.
We are practicing writing the numbers and matching the number to a set of
objects. We are also learning the number words. Please practice the number
words zero-ten. The standard for kindergarten is to know the number words
through twenty-five.
Students of the Month for the first six weeks are: Alex Kirkbride and Avery
