FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
How do I get my child in your preschool class? You may call the school and leave your name, your childs name, date of birth, a telephone number where you may be reached and whether or not you suspect any type of developmental delays in your child. What kind of preschool program do you offer? We offer a full inclusion preschool which includes both developmentally delayed and typical students. We have a class for three year olds and a class for four year olds. How does a child qualify as developmentally delayed? We used a test called the Battelle Developmental Inventory II to test the five areas of development. If a child shows a 25% delay in two or more areas or a 40% delay in one area, they qualify as developmentally delayed. Child Find is a day set aside to test any child from birth to age five that is not entering kindergarten in the fall. They will be tested for vision, hearing, motor skills, cognitive skills, speech & language, personal-social skills, adaptive and expressive & receptive communication. |
