During the week of October 4th-9th we will be focusing on the letter
Cc. We will learn to identify the capital and lower case form of the letter,
the sound for Cc, and we will think of words that start with the sound of
Cc. Please help your child find something at home that begins with the sound
of Cc to feed to AZ (Ariel Zipster our alphabet eater).
Our theme for the week is "How Can I Stay Healthy?" We will be talking
about keeping clean, eating healthy food, and exercising. In math we will
talk about comparing and matching, graphing, tools of measurement, and the
number 3. It is also Fire Safety Week. On Tuesday we will have visitors
from the fire station, and we will learn what to do in case of a fire.
Please remember that this is a short week. Classes will be dismissed at
11:30 on Friday for teacher collaboration. On Friday evening we will have
our annual Harvest Festival. This is a lot of fun, but also a lot of work.
We need everyones' help! Each class is responsible for a theme basket which
will be auctioned off. Our class is putting together a basket with the
theme "Scents of Fall". Mrs. Takeenia Simmons is coordinating this for our
class, so please send in items for the basket by Wednesday, October 7th. We
will also need help managing the basketball toss in our classroom. Please
send in your form letting me know which time you will be available to help.
I hope you will all be able to attend. It is a great community event and it
really helps the children feel like a part of the school.
