| The students were shown a presentation the first day of class that discussed
all of my policies for both Physical Education and History. If you would like
an exact copy, please call the office or email me and I can send home one
with
your child.
Grading policy for Physical Education & Wellness
P.E.- Each student is required to have a change of clothes and participate in
the activity that we are doing for the day.
There are 5 points available for each day of P.E. Dressing out is worth 2
points. If you do not dress out you are not eligible to get the other 3
points
and receive a 0. (THIS INCLUDES HAVING A CHANGE OF CLOTHES BUT NOT HAVING
SHOES) Participating in the activity earns another 2 points.
Sportsmanship earns 1 point. The total number of points earned for the day is
multiplied by 20 and that is the student's grade for the day.
EXAMPLE 4 points are earned for the day. 4x20= 80
*IF A STUDENT DOES NOT DRESS OUT FOR P.E., THE WILL RECIEVE A 0 FOR THE DAY,
A CHECK MARK, AND WILL WRITE OFF DURING P.E.*
*STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE ON ATHLETIC SHOES THAT ARE TIED AT THE TOP
AND OUTSIDE OF THE SHOE. THEY MUST ALSO BE RELATIVELY CLEAN. DIRT AND DUST
CAUSE WEAR AND TEAR ON A GYM FLOOR AND IT IS EXPENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING TO
KEEP IT IN OPERABLE CONDITION. STUDENTS WHO HAVE SHOES THAT I THINK ARE TOO
DIRTY TO BE ON THE FLOOR WILL BE GIVEN 3 MINUTES TO CLEAN THEM AT THE
BEGINNNING OF CLASS. IF THEY ARE NOT DONE IN THE TIME GIVEN, I WILL DEDUCT
POINTS FROM THIER GRADE DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF TIME THEY TAKE. IF THEY
DO NOT CLEAN THEIR SHOES THEY WILL BE TREATED AS IF THEY DO NOT HAVE SHOES
AND
WILL RECIEVE A 0, CHECK MARK, AND WRITE OFF DURING P.E.*
Wellness- Students are expected to participate in note taking discussion.
Students are given a 100 for every day that they participate. Points are
deducted if the student does not.
History- The students are given homework, quizzes, and tests. Homework and
quizzes count 1 time each and tests count 2 times.
The students will always know at least a week in advance if we are having a
test. Quizzes will be given after each set of notes and I do sometimes give
pop quizzes.
Homework is expected to be turned in when I call for it at the beginning of
class. Anything that is late will not score any higher than a 50. Also
leaving
your name off the paper will deduct 10 points.
