I am a native Nashvillian, one of 3 children born to a World War II vet and
his French war bride. My husband Robert and I met at Vanderbilt as
students and have 2 sons, Kenneth (Washington U. in St. Louis,BA'99, St.
John's,MAT '07) and David (University of Alabama,BS'05 and Trevecca U.
M.A.'11)and a granddaughter, Hope.
Kenneth and his wife Sarah live in St. Louis where Sarah is working on her
PhD. at Washington University in St. Louis. David works retail in the
Franklin area and is finishing an internship in counseling. Robert is a
biology teacher at MBA and coaches the track and cross country teams.
Some of my hobbies include antiques and gardening. Our 2 cats, Gus and
Woodrow, sometimes help me in the yard.
I feel fortunate that my mother was my French teacher in high school
(Peabody Demonstration School). I learned the correct accent and
pronunciation from the start! The fact that we visited my maternal
grandmother in France several times while I was young sparked my
interest in the French language and culture. I enjoy sharing my love of
my heritage with my students and friends.
I hope to share with you a different way of viewing yourself as a citizen of
this country as well as a citizen of the world.
