When should I keep my child home from school?

Any student with a temperature of 100 or above, or other symptoms of illness
such as vomiting, diarrhea or an undiagnosed skin rash should stay at home
until he has been symptom free for 24 hours, or has a note from a physician
stating the student may return to school.

Students that have been treated with lice shampoo and have no live bugs
may return to school. Nurse Anne, or other school personel will
examine the student before allowing her back in the classroom.

If my child gets a headache at school can the nurse give him medicine?

Students will not be given any medication without written consent from a
parent or guardian. If your child has occasional mild headaches or stomach
pains, you may bring over-the-counter medication such as acetaminophen or
ibuprofen in unopened containers labeled with your child's name and leave at
school for your child to use as needed. The medicine will be kept in the
nurse clinic at MES and MMS or in the office at MHS and will be administered
by Nurse Anne or other trained school personel.

times. A consent form and release of liability must be signed by a parent
or guardian.
