Discipline Policy

Parents,
I would like to welcome you and your child to fourth grade at MES.  I am excited about the new school year.  We will be learning many new things this year and I know you will encourage your child to do his/her best in school.  Good behavior is essential to complete learning.  My behavior policy is simple - I EXPECT GOOD BEHAVIOR AT ALL TIMES!  I expect all students to follow school and classroom rules.  I will not tolerate disrespect toward anyone.  There will be NO bullying in my classroom.  All of these students have been in a school setting since kindergarten.  They are well aware of appropriate behavior.  Below is a list of my classroom rules and the consequences for violating thes rules.
Classroom rules are as follows:
     1.  Follow directions the first time they are given.
     2.  Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
     3.  Students are to be respectful at all times.  No foul language, teasing, or
          bullying.
     4.  Talk softly and only at appropriate times.
     5.   Stay in your seat unless teacher indicates otherwise.
**  Please note that the rules and discipine policy for our school system
found in your child's agenda will also be enforced.

Consequences:
     1.  One warning will be given for misbehavior.
     2.  The second time the student misbehaves he/she will receive a  yellow card.
     3.  If the behavior continues this will be viewed as defiant behavior and the
student will receive another yellow card, a trip to the office, or a paddling.
