Curriculum

Milan Elementary School serves students in pre-kindergarten through grade 4.  Our pre-kindergarten is a full-day program.  The instructional program for elementary students includes language arts (reading, writing, spelling, listening, speaking), mathematics, social studies, science, health, physical education, art, and music. We have a full-time music teacher, a full-time art teacher, and a 5 full-time physical education teachers, 2 full-time guidance counselors, and 2 full-time librarians to serve our students.  For detailed information about the curriculum, including content and benchmarks for various grade levels, please contact Mrs. Vera Jones, Supervisor of Instruction, at 686-2132.

Exceptional Students
Milan Elementary has numerous programs to serve the needs of exceptional students.  All types of special education services are available to our students.  At the school, we provide services for students with 

  • learning disabilities, 
  • mild and moderate intellectual disabilities, 
  • emotional/behavioral disorders, 
  • severe/profound intellectual disabilities,
  • autism
  • hearing/visual impairment
  • gifted,
  • speech/language impairments, and 
  • other health impairments.
