Parents -
Please read with your children every day. Reading together as a family is a
wonderful way to help develop vocabulary, increase reading comprehension,
and encourage strong family bonds. Discussing what you read with your
child helps the books become more meaningful. We are always looking for
volunteers to come and read with children during their library time. You are
invited to read with your children at home and in the library to help them
increase their Accelerated Reader points and develop a lifetime love of
reading.
Please take note of the Tennessee Electronic Library icon. This is a
wonderful site free to the people of Tennessee. It has many journal articles
if you are working on research projects or working on a degree. It includes T-
CAP practice and ACT preparation. It also includes help if you have a child
that needs help passing a driver's test or if you have a friend trying to
pass a class to enter LPN school. It includes an ancestory look up. There are
free Commercial Appeals and wonderful World Book helps. Please take a look -
this site has all this and so much more!!!!
Please e-mail me at martinj@milanssd.org if I can be of assistance to you or
your family.
Thank you,
Judy Martin - K-4 Librarian
