I would like to welcome you and your child the 4th grade at MES. I am excited about the new school year and having your child in my class. We will be learning many new things this year and I know you will encourage your child to do his/her best in school. Good behavior is essential to complete learning. My behavior policy is simple-I expect good behavior at all times! I expect all students to follow school and classroom rules. I will not tolerate disrespect towards anyone. There will be NO bullying in my classroom. All of these students have been in a school setting since kindergarten. They are well aware of appropriate behavior. Below is a list of my classroom rules and the consequences for violating these rules.
Classroom rules:
Be Responsible:
Bring paper, pencils, and books to class. Turn in completed assignments on time.
Be Respectful:
Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak or leave your seat. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Listen carefully.
Make Good Choices:
Do what your teachers ask immediately. Follow all procedures.
Good things happen with good behavior:
To encourage appropriate behavior,we will have free time in class, being a teacher's helper, canteen, and various other positive rewards. Also, positive comments, certificates, awards, school wide rallies, and notes will be given to the students.
Consequences:
1st offense - verbal warning
2nd offense - 1st minor offense
Parent notified in agenda
No canteen
3rd offense - 2nd minor offense
Teacher will notify parent
Lose 10 minutes of recess
No canteen
*3rd minor offense becomes ONE major offense and the child is sent to the office
*Please note that the rules and discipline plan for our school system, found in your child’s agenda, will also be enforced.
