Can I send a special treat on my child's birthday?
Birthdays are exciting events in 4th grade, and we are happy to
celebrate in school. You are welcome to send a birthday treat;
please
simply let me know in advance so that I make sure that we
schedule some
extra time.
We will share birthday treats at snack time. Due to student
allergies, you
may choose to send in goodies (pencils, etc.) or donate a book to
the class
instead of food. We will celebrate summer birthdays on separate
days toward
the end of the year, or on a school day of your choosing.
If your child is having a birthday party outside of school,
please do not
send invitations in to be distributed unless the entire class is
invited.
This often leads to hurt feelings when children are left out.
Thank you for
understanding!
Will we have holiday parties?
We will celebrate holidays with parties. Parents will be
asked to
help with each party by sending napkins, plates, cups, treats,
favors,
drinks, etc.
What is the best way to get in touch with the teacher?
My planning is from 1:20-2:10 each day if you are in need of
speaking with
me. However, you are welcome to call and leave a message at any
time during
the day at 686-0840, and the school secretary will leave a
message for me.
My email address is jonesa@milanssd.org if you prefer to email me
a message.
Can I visit my child's classroom?
Yes, we love to have parents visit us. You are welcome to eat
lunch with
your child. We invite you
to read a
book to us. My main focus is on instructional time. So, I do ask
that visits
are kept to a minimum and any book that you read is short. We'd
love to have
you.
