Milan High School Driver Education Final Examination Information, February
10, 2012
As we approach the end of the 2011-12 2nd Trimester, much of our current
thought has to go toward the final work in driver education. This is has
been a productive trimester; many students have gained valuable skills and
others will be tested for their driver’s licenses soon. I thank you all for
your commitment to making matters good in class.
It is time for consideration of work that needs to be completed and this
summary will give us clear direction how to finish the 2nd Trimester.
1. Final Examination Information (All classes will meet in the library)
A. The final examination will be in two parts skills and
knowledge, scores from both the skills and knowledge tests will be added
together and the average score between the two will be the final examination
grade, i.e. skills (road test), “90” and knowledge “100”, equals a “95”final
examination grade. It is important for students to do well on both parts to
insure a good exam score.
1. Skills (road test) - The skills (road) test will
include the following areas to be assessed: Car control (positioning and
tracking), speed control, turning, braking, reading signs, turnabouts,
handling intersections and other general skills. Some students will be
testing for their driver license during this time as well. This final
examination is an excellent way for students to heighten their overall grade
in the class.
2. Knowledge test - The written final will come
directly from the online
the practice test at www.tennessee.gov. There will be a total of sixty
questions on the test, the same as is the online practice test (hint, hint).
At least one student will be testing for a permit.
2. The final examination schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, February 15, 2012; exams 2 and 4, and (in library)
Thursday, February 16, 2012; exams 1, 3 and 5 (in library)
3. All books must be turned in by Thursday, February 16, 2012.
4. All assignments and projects are due Thursday February 16, 2012.
Specific assignments include the following:
A. Final editions of your journal. This should include briefs
of each driving date, what you learned during that particular driving date,
any concerns that you have as a young driver. Remember a large portion of
your final daily grade (20%) is based on your journal. The journal should be
reflective of your driving assignments.
B. Any laboratory driving assignments, i.e. highway, parallel parking,
etc., if in doubt, ask Mr. Vonner.
