I graduated from Gleason High and University of Tennessee at Martin with a
B.S degree in secondary education. I began teaching in Milan in 1990,and I
also taught art and directed plays for 14 years at McKenzie High School.
I am proud to say I am a professional artist and a member of the GCVAA, The
Jackson Art Association, and an active member of the Tennessee Watercolor
Society. I enjoy entering art competitions throughout Tennessee. I will try
to show some of my artwork on this website ASAP. I also enjoy being the
artistic director for MHS's play productions. Our school has won 5 national
set awards for our musical productions including 1st place 2006 for Guys and
Dolls. Our last exciting production was HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL! I reside in
McKenzie with my husband, Donnie.
The mission of my classes is to give students artistic confidence through
learning "to see" to draw, paint in different media and create forms in
ceramics using the elements and principles of design.
