Does this class have alot of homework?

Accelerated Class:  Yes, we typically do two assignments a night 
because the class goes faster than a normal class. 
Regular: The homework varies.  Some nights we will have quite a 
bit and other nights we will have very little.  It is unusual for 
us not to have homework.

Do I have to buy an expensive TI calculator?

It is not required, but would be very helpful on homework.  We do 
have a 
class set of TI-83's for use at school.  My advice is: If you are 
going to 
be taking several more college prep math classes, then it would 
probably be a 
good long-term investment to purchase a TI-83 , a TI-83 Plus, a 
TI-84, or a 
TI-84 Plus for the rest of high school , college, and beyond.  
They typically 
cost between $80- $120, however, I have seen them as low as $67 
at Office Max 
or on E-bay.
