Here's a recap of the week's activities.
Mrs. Tassin's room Look out patent office! We read a great little play about how a king was bored
and he became an inventor. We looked at the process of how an idea goes to to become real. We
found out about patents on products and even created our own. Thanks to Autumn for a "bunny key
finder" for Mrs. Becky and her "keyitis" (a sickness of misplacing keys!)
Mrs. Winfrey's room
We worked on many skills this week in sequencing and inference skills.
Mrs. Collins's room "As a bird soaring high in the sky" we soared with our study of poetry and
figurative language! Now, on to look for lots of examples in poetry.
Mrs. Hines's room We just began our study of "The Yellow Wallpaper", an interesting story that
reflects problems of the time period.
Mrs.Spain's class has been studying the Civil War.
In Mrs. Rinke's room, we are talking about the Greeks. What an amazing civilization! We gained so
much from the Greeks!
Mrs. Dollar's class filmed the PSAs and now we look forward to seeing those. Great job to tell
everyone to "Go Green".
While Mrs. Dollar is out with the baby, we welcome Mr. Kennedy to the room.
Mr. Fields class is studying the Constitution. Thanks to all who helped put our Veteran's Day
program together.
Mr. Verner's class
Wow! These are busy days in class. We are all looking forward to learning about the Presidents with
this week for presentations. Wednesday will be busy as we celebrate Veteran's Day and the
Presidents. We also looked at Chris van Allsburg's stories and read "The Stranger" and "Jumanji".
Now we know what could happen if we don't read the directions!
This is Veteran's Day breakfast and a celebration of those men and women who have fought for out
freedom! Be sure and thank a Vet or a soldier for what they do for us!
It will be great week! Enjoy!
