What's happening in the classrooms?

January is the start of the new year, new semester and new six weeks. We had a very busy December
so now let's busy ourselves with the new month, all the while hoping for a "snowman snow".

Mrs. Tassin's room. We will begin our novel study of a great book-"Number the Stars".

Mrs. Winfrey's class has spent time studying the genres of literature. Let's see where January will
take us!

Mrs. Collins' class read and found out about Charles Dickens and his view of the holiday season in "A
Christmas Carol".

Mrs. Hines' class read "Roman Fever" and will now move into research and writing too.

Mrs. Spain's class is studying the way west and iwll move right into the 20th century and the
industrial revolution.

Mrs. Rinke's class has examined life and culture of the Middle East.

Mrs. Dollar's class has traveled around the world by playing "Caravans". We will be having the
"Geography Bee" in January.

Mr. Fields' class will be moving on into a study of the westward movement too.'

Mr. Verner's class had some amazing Christmas card projects. My brain was so full because I learned
so much at the presentations.

January will be a great month...hoping for flakes to fall!
