As the 08-09 school year begins, it marks my 34th year as a classroom
teacher. I have enjoyed
teaching and love every moment of learning and working and playing! Reading
and social studies are
great subjects because they involve so many other subjects too.
I love working with our Destination Imagination program and our "Stuck in
the Middle Players" here at
Milan Middle School. This will be my fourteenth year in Milan.
My family is very special to me. My husband, Mr. Gene teaches at Freed-
Hardeman University, my
daughter Melanie is a freshman at Freed-Hardeman University and my daughter,
Emily
teaches at Stigall Elementary
School in Humboldt. Teona, Kirk and Adriana live in Nashville. My other
children are all around the
world since we host exchange students.
My precious boys are little white bichons-Bo and Ty. They are the loves of my
life!
Every day is a new adventure in learning much about our great world, its
history, its people, the cultures
and customs. The motto of the classroom is posted that comes from an
ancient Chinese proverb that
says, "I hear and I forget. I see, and I remember. I do, and I
understand."
