Objectives:
This week, the students will continue reviewing participles & infinitive
phrases, verb usage, semicolons, colons, quotations, dashes, appositives,
misspelled words, homonyms, summary, critique, grade appropriate vocabulary,
theme, story elements, parts of the plot and main idea, patterns of speech,
and group roles (presentations). They will be involved in many hands-on
activities, group discussion, and quick assessments(check for understanding).
Review T-CAP Skills (Practice T-CAP Questions including reading passages) - TN
State Website - Nouns, Verbs, Prepositions, Sentence Combining, Misspelled
Words, Author's Purpose, Illustrations, Grade Appropriate Vocabulary,
Vocabulary - Meaning, & Thesis/Main Points

Please remind your child to read his/her AR book every night. Reading builds
vocabulary and increases comprehension skills. It would be a great way for you
to be involved with your child.
