Language Homework

LANGUAGE CLASS:
Every Monday a new spelling list will be assigned. Students will be
responsible for completing a section each night. All work is due on
Friday. Students will also be tested over the words every Friday, so it is
important that they study and practice spelling the words each night.

Monday - Students will be given class time to work on DEFINITIONS. Any
definitions that are not completed in class will be homework. This section
will be checked the next day. (I have added a website link on the links page
that is a dictionary. It can be used on homework for definitions if you do
not have one available.)

Tuesday - Students must write 2 SENTENCES for each word. This is to show
their knowledge of the meaning of the words. Parent can help with spelling
difficult words, but please do not help with creating the sentences.

Wednesday - Students must put all of the words in ABC ORDER. This is to be
done for homework.

Thursday - Students must write the words 10 TIMES EACH. Students be very
careful to spell them correctly. It is a common mistake to misspell the
words and then write them wrong 10 times. Parents you can check them when
they are finished and see if they have made mistakes.

Friday - Students must be ready to turn in all 4 (completed)parts of their
spelling. Each part is worth 25 points totaling 100% for a grade.
TEST TODAY! The TEST will be a little different than it was the first
semester. The students will have to understand each term and be able to
explain the meaning of each word. This will be a little harder, but they
need to be able to understand some of these terms as they are preparing for
T-CAP.

This Week's Spelling List:
There is no spelling work this week, because we are testing all of our
students for their spring IEP meetings. They are suppossed to be studying
their "academic vocabulary words", which are located in their spelling
binder. There will be a test soon over the meanings of these words. The
