| 1-24-08- School was dismissed at 11:00 today due to snow reporting
accumulations in the Sunbright area.
1-14-08- Welcome to Spring Semester 2008- We are pleased to announce that we
have 317 students enrolled this semester. This is a 11% increase over last
semester. This increase may partly due to a new Health CNA class taught by
Jesse Steinmitz. This is a dual credit class with 40 hrs of classroom
instruction and 60 hrs of clinicals. Upon completion students will receive an
associate in Allied Health and be prepared for the CNA state board exam.
Our Physics class has 14 enrolled this spring.
10-25-07- We are actively working with the guidance counselors at the four
high schools to recruit at least 15 students to enroll in a new CNA Certified
Nursing Assistant class Spring Semester 2008.We have 15 enrolled now, but we
could handle afew more.
8-24-07- Morgan County Career and Technical Center is happy to announce that
we are included in another grant award along with Tennessee Technology
Center and Rockwood High School of $23,000. This money will be awarded from
Carl Perkins Reserve Grant Monies for Post- secondary schools partnering with
secondary schools. This particular proposal will provide a registered nurse
to teach a Nursing Education class at Morgan county Career and Technical
Center as well as a class at Rockwood High School. It will provide $12,000
toward classroom equipment needed for that class.Upon completion of the
class, the student would take the state board certified CNA-Certified nursing
assistant test. We plan to start a class of 15 in January 2008.
The Regional Director’s Meeting will be Thursday, September 28th.

Tennessee High School Graduates who have passed the following courses with an
A or B may receive up to 6.0 semester credit hours for Diagnostic Medicine
#5511 or forensics Sciences #5514 . This is a statewide articulation
agreement between Nashville State Community College and the State Dept. of
Educ.
1-31-07- Morgan County Career and Technical Center will be closed Jan. 31-
2007 due to heating problems.
7-2-07- Congratulations! Morgan County Career and Technical Center submitted
a grant application and was awarded a Perkins IV Reserve grant for Business
Information Technology totaling $57,750. The grant will serve all four high
scholls and the Morgan County Career and Technical Center. It will provide
all 5 schools with access to a massive library of business industry
certication practice tests ,instructional videos, and. demonstrations. Some
of these include A+,Linux+Net+,inet+ Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver,
3DStudioMax, Microsoft Office 2000,Xp and Adobe illustrator.
