MRS. REESE’S SECOND GRADE
Grades Some of the papers in today’s Monday Folders will have number grades on them. These are the grades recorded in the grade book. The grading scale used by Wilson County is:
A = 93-100 B = 85-92 C = 75-84 D = 70-74 F = 69 and below.
Snacks There is still some confusion about snacks. School-wide, we have an ant problem. No sweets including doughnuts and cookies are allowed at snack time. Also, only water is allowed to drink-no Capri Suns or juice boxes. Remember, it’s best not to send peanuts, peanut butter, or anything with nut products in it.
Scholastic Book Order Scholastic surprised me with a new access code this year. I am sorry for sending home the wrong one. You can access the classroom ordering site with this access code: GLXLL
Sweater This summer, Wilson County Schools received an energy grant. They used the funds to install heating/air conditioning units that are movement sensitive. The units are controlled at the Central Office. It is quite cool in our room; it will probably be quite warm this winter. I suggest you have a sweater in your student’s backpack in case he/she gets too cold.
New Website The new website is up and running. You can access it through the Wilson County Schools or MJE websites. I am continuing to update teacherweb, but I’m not sure how long it will work.
I’m Glad You Asked…
Q: How do I know how many AR points my child has?
A: Each Monday (if possible) I conferences with the students about their reading. At that time, we review their reading logs and how they are scoring. We also write the points they’ve earned so far in their agenda.
