No spelling tests for kindergarten.
Use color words and sight words to practice spelling at home.
Your child should practice their first and last name.
Also practice spelling family member names as well.

In kindergarten it is very important that children explore what they learn in
school. Correct spelling is not as important in kindergarten as trying to
figure out how to spell a word on his or her own by using their phonological
awareness. Give your child a word such as desk or chair and have them sound
out each phoneme of the word and write down the letter sound that corresponds
to what they said. Break the word down into the sounds for them if they are
having some trouble.
