When does the Dance Team perform??

Dance Team performs at all of the home games and pep rallies. We will also 
perform at the other events that we have at our school, like the talent 
show, the teacher student basketball game, etc. Will will also compete in 
two competitions in the spring.

What are the grade requirements for Dance?

You must maintain an overall C average in your classes.

Turns scare me! What are the requirements?

I would like everyone to at least be working on their double. Also, I would 
like for everyone to get at least four rotations on their fouette turns. 
But, that is always something we can work on after the team has been 
selected. For now, I would consider two good.

Where can I go to get training for dance?

These days word on the street is that Hermitage Dance Center and Artistry In 
Motion are the best two places to go for dance training. I have also heard 
that Rockstar dance is great and Resha's school of Dance.

Learn two dances, make up one, and show technique skills

What if I don't think that I am good enough to tryout??

Tryout anyways! It may just be a lack of self confidence on your part!! If 
you do not make it and have never had dance training take a few classes and 
tryout next year! Bottom line, it never hurts to tryout! Plus, if you do not 
make it the 
first time you will know what to expect for the second time and will have a 
much better chance.

Do the girls from last year automatically make the team.

No. Absolutely not. They are put through the same process as everyone else 
and the judges are not aware of who was on the team prior.

How are tryouts judged?

We have a panel of judges come in that are former dancers. 
We take the top scores and often have callbacks if there are very close 
scores, etc.

Do you have to be a certain size to tryout?

NO NO NO .... dancers come in all shapes and sizes. Anyone can make the 
team!!

When will practice start?

Immediately! We pick up practice on Monday after tryouts.

When is Camp?

June 8-10th. There is a typo on the tryout packet!!
