Independent Study Project
Human Body Organ Systems
Due Dates are listed for each part of the project.

Objectives: To explain the basic functions of the major organ systems.
            To explain how these organ systems collectively enable complex 
               multicellular organisms to survive.

Each student will need to do all the assignments and turn in all written work 
on the due dates.

1.Read Chapters 8, 9, 10, and 11.

2.Using the vocabulary from the four chapters(55 words) make a crossword 
puzzle. You must use at least 25 of the words from the chapters. You may use 
puzzlemaker.com. You need to include an answer key with your puzzle.
DUE: Mon.  11/16 A Day
     Tues. 11/17 B Day

3.On an unlined 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of white paper draw the levels of 
organization from cell to organism. Be sure to label and give examples of 
each level. Show how the levels are related. Title your paper.
DUE: Wed. 11/18 A Day
          11/19 B Day

4.There are 11 organ systems in the human body. You need to list all the 
systems, the parts of each, and the systems' functions. You decide how you 
want to organize this information. EX.- you could make a chart or a foldable. 
Be creative.
DUE: Mon.  11/23 A Day
     Tues. 11/24 B Day
Turn in early if you will be leaving before the official Thanksgiving break.

5.Pick one of the 11 body systems and make a poster. You will need to draw, 
label, and color the parts. Tell what each part does. Tell the relationship 
of this system to the other organ systems of the body. Tell how this system 
allows/helps the organism to survive.

6.Do the TCAP Test Prep for each chapter. All of them will be due on the due 
date.
